Installation of the ParaPort driver on Windows 2000 in simplyfied chinese systems
The images of this page have been created thanks to the help of Kevin LIU, China. Launch the "Add/Remove Hardware Wizard" ......in the Windows 2000 Control Panel ( click on "Windows Start Menu" -> "Settings" -> "Control Panel" ). The following dialog box is displayed:
... and Follow the Instructions...... to add a device:
Windows will look for Plug and Play hardware:
When it has finished, add a new device...
...by selecting it from a list ( ! ):
Define the Hardware Type...as "Other devices". You may use the scroller to find this selection:
Load the Setup Information File......by clicking on the button "Have Disk"...
... and "Browse":
In the "file open dialog box" select the file "ParaPort.inf" and click "Open":
Confirm the source directory for the driver files:
Select the Driver......by clicking on the button "Next" a first time...
...and a second time:
The "Add/Remove Hardware Wizard" will do its job and finish:
Verify the installation...... by opening in the application "Computer Management" ( click on "Windows Start Menu" -> "Settings" -> "Control Panel" -> "Administrative Tools" -> "Computer Management" ) the Windows Device Manager ( click on "Device Manager" ). The following entry of ParaPort should be displayed:
